How to Add a Logo in Child Theme of the Genesis

Zetmedia - Genesis is a premium theme that is supported by about 50 child theme. Some child theme equipped with a logo that is located under the Default Layout feature in Genesis Settings so that the logo is uploaded via the file manager can be displayed on the blog hosting.

However, the logo features not available on the most child theme, such as Prose, Pro Magazine, Lifestyle Pro and Pro News. For example, as shown below.

To solve this problem, we can use the plugin "Easy Genesis Logo Uploader". Here's how to add a logo to use these plugins.

Installing and EnablingPlugin  "Easy Genesis Logo Uploader"

1. Log in to your WordPress blog
2. Click on the Add New Plugin Plugins features.
3. In the Search box provided, type Easy Genesis Logo Uploader.
4. Click the Install Now button, on the brief description of the plugin.

5. Click OK on the notification Are you sure you want to install this plugin?
6. Click the Active Plugin.

7. You will see a notification stating plugin "Easy Genesis Logo Uploader" has been active. In addition, there is also a notification requesting you remove header custom code in functions.php. For information, plugin "Easy Genesis Logo Uploader" does not work if the code "custom header" has not been removed.

Removing Custome Header Code

To delete the code "custom header", the steps are:

1. Hover your cursor over the feature and click the Appearance Editor.
2. On page Stylesheet (style.css) appear, see the top right and then click the Theme Functions (functions.php).
3. You will see the page functions.php. On this page, find the header custom code that begins with the command // * Add support for custom header and ends with a semicolon. Part code "custom header" usually varies, depending on the child theme is used. For example, here is the code "custom header" in the child theme Magazine Pro.
   
4. Remove the code "custom header" then click Update File. Notifications, as shown in step 7 will disappear by itself.

Uploading Logo

The logo that you have prepared, you can upload with the following stages:

1. Hover your cursor on the Appearance feature, and then click Customize.
   
2. Click the Upload logo that appears Select Image button.
   
3. Click the Select Image button and click Upload Files and Select Files.
4. Browse the logo on your computer, and then click Open.
5. You will see ATTACHMENT DETAILS. Fill in the Title box and Alt Text available (the other box is left as default). After that, click the Choose button Image.
6. Click the Save & Publish.
